Fields of Activities and Service Features

The main field of activity of NiCoTa GmbH is the breeding of new tobacco hybrid varieties. Preliminary we are working on Flue Cured tobacco but if there is any demand, Burleys and Dark Air Cureds will be included to the breeding program.

The breeding of these varieties is done conventionally. Genetically modified organisms (GMO) are not in our range of goods.

Besides of the hybrid breeding program a large selection of open pollinated varieties amounting to about 800 entries is maintained and described. On the one hand there is a range of wild (Nicotiana-) species, on the other a collection of varieties from all over the world and all kinds of tobacco types. Seeds of these varieties can be delivered on request.

Besides the main activities “breeding” and “seeds” NiCoTa GmbH is offering additional service features relating to tobacco cultivation.
